How to make an appointment?
Please call our main switchboard number on 01623 528748 to book an appointment at the surgery – telephone lines open at 8.30 am.
The practice runs a same day appointment system whereby anyone ringing the surgery before 11.30 am is guaranteed an appointment with a clinician the same day. Urgent or routine, it makes no difference – same day appointments are for everything.
Alternatively, for patients with internet access who wish to pre-book an appointment, we now have a number of appointment slots available for booking online. If you wish to use this service, please ask at reception to be provided with a unique username and password. (This facility can also be used to order repeat prescriptions).

There are always a small number of pre-bookable appointments available, however, you may have to wait a few days if you wish to see a named GP. At present, all appointments with the nurses are pre-booked. However the phlebotmory service includes provision of a number of same day appointments during morning surgeries. These are held for those patients who have seen the doctor and require blood tests. This will mean that patients can complete their visit to the doctor on the same day.
We now provide a weekly extended hours clinic between 6.30pm onwards. This clinic is intended for people who cannot attend surgery during the normal opening hours and therefore unfortunately not all routine practice services will be available during these times.
In order to best meet the needs of our patient population, we are continually looking at ways in which our appointment system may be improved.
What if I can't get an appointment?
The surgery is particularly busy on Mondays, especially during the winter months. If your appointment is not urgent, try to book on a less busy day after 10.30am.
Last month 75 patients failed to turn up for their booked appointment.
If you let us know as soon as possible you can't attend your appointment, we can then make it available for another patient.
If you feel that your need is urgent, and cannot wait until tomorrow but there simply are no appointments available, you can book to have a telephone consultation with a doctor if you wish. The doctor will ring you at an agreed time on the telephone number you have given. Alternatively, you can be ask to be seen as a medical emergency.
